The federated wiki is the Commons. It is the canonical shared body of the estate. Writing that matters to more than one person or one device lives here, on sites that link into a neighbourhood.
The Commons owns the social mechanics of writing. Every page carries a journal, its own recorded history. Forking a page copies it to your site and records where it came from. The neighbourhood makes links resolve across sites.
A page here is never a final word. Twins of the same page diverge by design. The journal records lineage, not a duty to agree, and disagreement sits comfortably side by side in the lineup.
