A TiddlyWiki is the Bottle. It is a whole wiki sealed inside a single HTML file. It opens in any browser from a memory stick or an email attachment, with no server and no network. You can hand someone the Guide.
In this estate TiddlyWiki is a compilation target, not an editing venue. A cluster of wiki pages is bottled into one file and given away. Editions are stamped, like printings of a book.
Editions, not branches. When someone edits their bottle and sends it back, nothing is merged. The returned bottle is read as a fresh source and ingested like any other. Fork and diverge holds even here.
One bottle flows the other way. A TiddlyWiki from 2021, dormant for five years, will be rescued into the Commons as the first inbound crossing. Its ten tiddlers keep their dates and their original text.
